Default Extend Life of Prophecies Campaign

A few suggestions to keep the hardcore RPGers entertained until Factions comes out:

1. If you completely clear out a zone, u get a chest that pops up with purple or gold items (kinda like chest that pops up in some UW quests or in SF for the Kilroy quest).

May lead to players farming all areas of the map rather than the specific ones they stick to now. I know they did the "Clear out whole zone" thing in the new UW (Ruins of Tombs?), but it's only to advance to next stage so u can get greens eventually. However, if you clear out whole zone anywhere you should be rewarded with some loot.

2. If you finish every Mission AND Bonus, it should unlock a new repeatable quest or area with some sweet drops. Maybe the new Ruins of Tombs/UW could have required this... too late now. However, if you require this for a new region, this change might get players going back for bonus part of missions.

3. Finishing ALL quests, missions, bonuses AND unlocking all skills (in PvE, including elites) for your character's 2 professions should gain you some kind of rank emote equivalent for PvE. Some have called this an "Honor" emote to keep it from being confused with "Rank" which is for PvP. This emote should be usable by all characters you create in PvE so you can get into groups easier.

4. Upon completing suggestion # 3 above, you should be able to then "abandon" all your Missions, so that you can do them and their bonuses again. However, this time when you go to the mission outpost to do the mission, your level is dropped to 3-5 levels below the henchies in that area and you only have access to the skills that could be earned from trainers or quests prior to that mission. So you wouldn't have elites or more powerful skills in doing most of these missions the second time around (i.e., no meteor shower in Nolani Academy). Thus, although Anet can't increase the difficulty level (like in Diablo 2), lowering your level and limiting your skills might accomplish something similar to that. While you may have trouble getting into groups due to having a lower level than the henchies, the aforementioned Honor emote should help out.

If you finish the missions and bonuses the second time around, with this handicap in place, you earn a higher "Honor" emote. In addition, you should gain access to an ultra difficult area with tons of level 30 and higher creatures (powerful like Glint). This area should be near impossible to complete. Good teams should be able to complete it once in 20 or 30 tries. This would ratchet up the challenge for the hardcore RPGers who have been bored for some time now.

Keep the RPGers entertained until Factions, Anet. Don't lose them to some other crappy RPG just cuz they ran out of things to do.

Any other ideas that would keep us playing Prophecies campaign longer are welcome.

Sorry if this has been said before. I did a search and didn't turn up anything this specific. I apologize if my search skills suck.

I actually wouldn't mind that too much, sounds quite good, and not a real pain to implement like the sf (I might be wrong in the case of limiting levels, skills etc).

I like the chest idea alot

threadjack: are there such chests called the 'frozen' chest and there was one other, in the middle of dreadnoughts?

Some of these ideas would rock. I especially like the honor emote. I hate it when people think you are a new player even though you've cleared the game several times (and by you, I mean me).
Also, this new insanely uber area would be the perfect front for my idea in another thread. They would be items similar to the greens, but without a doubt the best weapons in the game. Perhaps this could be incorporated into the chest upon clearing the level idea. However, that is provided that Anet can make an area that is possible but requries an extremely powerful, well-balanced team.

Please implement these suggestions, if it's not too much trouble, Anet.

hi

were you aware that GW was never intended to * keep the hardcore RPGers entertained * between chapters?

it is intended as a play it as much as i want between chapters and doing something else to fill in the time between chapters. (coming back for events or simply wanting some more FUN)

if you are grasping at finding something to do in game simply to kill time until the next chapter comes out this is not your game (try WOW,EQ2,ETC) for that constant must play it all the time grindfest

That is very true. People often confuse GW with a typical MMO, and think they should invest their life into it.

HOWEVER, that said, there are nothing wrong with player who paid for their game wanting it to last longer. Afterall, GW is advertised more as alternative to MMO, therefore, should offer what the MMO crowd wants/need, but better!

I think A.net drop the ball and Chapter 2 got delayed, thus this big gap of content that is just not very intersting to do. (I offered some opinion in this post on the style of gaming I would want to see GW go with)

To OP, I will /sign with #3 on the PvE emot thing. But I would like to see a more use of Exploration area than Mission area.

How about a Treasure Hunt? Mob will be dropping random treasure maps (like "Map of Skull 2/4" or "Gand One Piece 1/6"), in which once you collect all the pieces of a map, the map is complete, and will tell you the location to find the Treasure. (you would also need to collect the special key to open the chest as well) Open it will find some goodies.

Or a Big long chain quest. one that must be finish after another, with spiting choices and leading to different ends.
(I think quests are relative easy to add, when no new area is needed that is)

Another place that non-key chests spawn still are north of Beacon's Perch. One of the Beacon's quests takes you to the spot ("The deserters" or w/e).

It only drops wihtes and blues though.

That is an AWESOME idea. I love the idea of being able to prove to someone that you have every skill in the game like a simple emote.

They all should be separate emotes however. Examples:

/quest: Should be across all characters if you beat all quests on one to show you are experienced, making it easier to find a group.

/skill: shows that you have all of your primary professions skills, make it easier to find a group that needs a specific type of monk/mes/necro/whatever.

/missions: sorta the same as the quest one only with all missions and bonuses completed.

I think these would be great in getting a group or just to show off =P.

Good idea. If you beat all quests or missions with one character, your other characters should get to use the /missions or /quests emote.

The /skills emote would have to be limited to each character, but might be especially important when forming groups in the later quests such as in the new Tombs or in the Defend Drok's etc. quests.

Also, maybe an NPC in one of the later regions of the game could tell you which quests you still need to finish, in case you haven't gotten them all in your Quest log yet.
